Stylish, spacious lodges built in an ecologically sustainable way on the extensive grounds of the family-friendly Riverhaven Farm. A little more idyllic and tranquil is Riversdale Lodge, Type 3, which is separated from the other log cabins by woodland and is just 50 metres from Clarendon Lough.
This family-run establishment is located on the banks of the River Boyle in County Roscommon and even has private access to Lough Key and the River Boyle. Take advantage of the opportunity to hire a rowing boat and enjoy a wonderful day on the water. Perfect for children too, your little ones can play to their heart's content on the grounds or in the nearby Lough Key Forest Park with climbing facility. Misty the pony is just as happy to be petted as the farm's little calves.
Boat hire on site: €35 per day, plus engine €30 per day plus petrol at a charge.
In the early and late season, drawing, painting and photography courses are offered on site (on request, for a fee). Several small lakes are available for anglers on the site (catch and release). Good fishing also possible in the River Boyle or neighbouring Lough Key; deep sea fishing from Sligo. Canoeing is also possible on the numerous larger and smaller lakes in the area, the rivers Boyle and Shannon, and excursion trips are offered on the Shannon from Carrick on Shannon. On the southern shore of Lough Key, only about 1 km away, is the Lough Key Forest Park - an El Dorado for children and climbing enthusiasts, while hikers can enjoy a fantastic view of the coast and plains from the Dartry Mountains northeast of Sligo - a worthwhile destination for a day trip.
