Holiday home in Vågan

This holiday cottage sits right on the water front by the small town of Sandsletta, on the west side of the island Austvågøya. The landscape is open and sunny and gives a panoramic view of the sea and the mountains. Enjoy sunsets from the terrace. It's especially delightful to sit on the rocks outside the cottage and listen to the waves hitting the beach. During bright spring and summer nights, the landscape will be colored red by the midnight sun. The shallow bay below the house has a narrow stray where the sea water enters. You can catch both salmon and trout in this bay. A motor boat is included and is tied up right by the house. The area has several fishing lakes. The flat landscape is perfect for biking and hiking. 10 km to the foodstore in the fishing village Laukvik. Here you may also walk along the great pier protecting the harbor from stormy weather, and enjoy the fresh and salty sea air from the open ocean. On stormy days, the great weaves hitting the pier are impressive to look at. The town Sand further north has idyllic sandy beaches. The house is a perfect starting point for driving around Lofoten. 25 km to Svolvær, the centre of Lofoten with its shops, restaurants and airport. 30 km to Kabelvåg, where you can have a close up experience with live fish at the town's aquarium.
