The holiday chalet is in a wonderful location in the green hills of Tuscany, surrounded by olive trees. It has a panoramic view of the valley and village of Vinci (birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci). The chalet is situated in a tranquil, small-scale family park in an area with lots of woods and plenty of shade. The city of Florence, renowned for its culture, is just 25 km away. A shuttle bus will take you right into the centre. This hospitable Italian family make their own olive oil, which you can sample on site, and you can even take part in the olive harvest. There are wine tasting evenings and lessons on making pasta or pizza. The grandfather can still be seen cooking in the kitchen, creating delicious Tuscan dishes. Definitely worth trying! There is also a lovely swimming pool and a somewhat smaller wading pool for the youngest kids, surrounded by an extensive sunbathing lawn with sun loungers. There is also a playground for the youngest guests, as well as table tennis and a football pitch. There is even a nice restaurant and bar where you can buy fresh bread and groceries.

One small note: The bunk bed in the second bedroom is only suitable for kids up to 20 kg. If the house is booked for 5 adults then the 5th adult will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. Some practical tips to complete your vacation; 1) Markets in the environment * Monday - Prato: It is Tuscany's largest market, where one can really find everything and more. * Wednesday - Vinci: Local Market (20 mins) in the morning. * Thursday - Empoli: Local Market (10 mins) in the morning. * Saturday - Montelupo: Local Market (10 mins) in the morning. * Daily Market: In San Lorenzo (Florence). From this holiday park and in the region there are several designated routes, but of course also places to discover for yourself. Hiking maps of the area are available at the reception. Pistoia: This hidden gem in Tuscany has been declared the cultural capital of Italy in 2017. A true title, because this 'Florence in the Small' has a lot of beauty. Here are some places in and around Pistoia that you can not skip: 1. The Piazza del Duomo, has a unique campanile bell tower, and a beautiful baptistery. 2. The Piazza della Sala, with many nice shops, has a lively market and many terraces 3. The beautiful facade of the Ospedale del Ceppo, commonly called Ospedale Vecchio. 4. Marino Marini's artwork, in his dedicated Museo Marino Marini 5. Villa Garzoni, the birthplace of the story of Pinokkio. In the immediate vicinity of the holiday park: • Vinci (20 mins), the birthplace of the famous Italian artist, architect, painter and writer Leonardo da Vinci • Carmignano (5 mins), a small village at 5 mins of the holiday park where you can also find several small restaurants. At 3 minutes from the park there is also the "Archaeological Park" which is only accessible on foot. • Artimino (5 mins), a beautiful little village on a slope and famous for its beautiful Villa Medicea. • Montelupo Fiorentino (10 mins), famous for its beautiful ceramics. • Montecatini-Terme (40 mins), one of Italy's most exclusive spas, with the cable car to Montecatini Alto and the cozy square of Piazza Giuseppe Giusti. The medieval city center and the city walls are practically car-free, and it's fun to hire a bicycle to visit everything. • Pisa, near the mouth of the Arno, including the Tower of Pisa, Piazza dei Cavalieri, Duomo Santa Maria Assunta and Battistero, the largest baptistery in the world. Also visit Marina di Pisa, a beautiful Italian seaside resort. • San Gimignano, with a unique skyline consisting of 14 remaining 14th century family towers. It is one of Italy's best preserved medieval cities • Siena, including the Duomo of Siena with statues of Michelangelo and Donatello, Palazzo Publico, San Domenico and Piazza del Campo with the fountain "Fonte Gaia" and the annual "Palio" (an old-fashioned horse race between July 2 and August 16). • Volterra, with Piazza dei Priori, Duomo of Santa Maria Assunta, Palazzo Vescoville, Medici Fort, Fonti di Docciola and Roman Theater • Greve in Chianti, also known as the gateway to the Chianti wine area.
