The apartment is located in a secluded and quiet resort called La Maestranza. It is within walking distance to the port, beaches, restaurants, Marbella's bullring and casino; plus you have a supermarket, bus stop, tapas places and other small shops just outside the gate of the resort.
La Maestranza is one of the most popular resorts to holiday in - for two main reasons: great location plus the lovely holiday ambiance within the resort. Other influential factors are safety (you need key to enter the resort and a security guard is here fulltime) and then the welcoming attitude the locals have towards tourists. We live ourselves an hour drive from the area and we know first-hand how great an area this is. We are sure you will love it too.
There are two swimming pool areas in La Maestranza. The main pool area has a large pool for adults, long enough fore swimming exercise, and a small pool for children. The area offers a lovely garden ambiance with sunbeds – but also shaded spaces (which is needed at times!).
The second poll area has heated water (you can see it from the balcony), what a pleasure it is to be able to go for a swim on a late November afternoon!
Puerto Banus is today maybe the most popular marina promenade in Spain and on a sunny day the setting of the place truly enthrals you. Set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea, with a fascinating view to the rock of Gibraltar and in the far background you can see the Moroccan mountain range. Spectacular.
We all love walking along the beach and here in Puerto Banus you are exactly on the halfway point of the beautiful walk path, that goes along the beach all the way from the hub of Marbella past Banus and to San Pedro! The stretch from Puerto Banus into Marbella (7.6km/4.8miles) is also known as The Golden Mile; along here you'll pass by the many beach clubs that the area is so famous for. In these clubs you can pay to get a towel and a beach chair including access to the luxurious pool and spa facilities, where you can relax to the view and sounds of the ocean.
From La Maestranza you can quickly go to Marbella by bus - where you again can connect with central lines going to Malaga, Estepona and Gibraltar. And don't forget, while you're in Marbella, to take walk through the charming old town!
If you're a golfer you're in paradise, hence why the Costa del Sol is also known as “Costa del Golf” and “Europe's capital of Golf”!
From our apartment, there are no less than 5 golf courses within a 5 minute drive. Las Brisas Real Club de Golf, La Quinta Golf, Aloha Golf and Los Naranjos Golf are the favourite courses among most golfers around here. La Dama de Noche Golf Club in the vicinity also deserves to be mentioned as this was the first golf course in Europe to install evening light, of such a good quality, that you can play golf in the cool late hours with no inconvenience!
Giving small kids and adults alike a fun introduction to golf is very easy here. Take them to Fuengirola Adventure Golf, an amazing mini-golf course where water interacts with the golf in 10 out of the 19 holes and the changes in elevation, length and style keep the putter enthralled throughout.
