When you rent out a holiday home at Campaya, you often need to pay a deposit for the following reasons:
- For property owners to ensure themselves against possible damages of the house or the property.
- For property owners to purchase cleaning products, in case you chose to do the final cleaning and it wasn't sufficient.
- For property owners to cover variable costs, which are not included in the rent (eg. consumption of electricity and water)
Consumption charges are often offset from the deposit.
How much should I pay in deposit?
The deposit varies from house to house. It depends on the country, on the type of house and whether there is a sauna or a pool (meaning higher utility costs). When you have checked whether a property is vacant during a certain time period on www.campaya.co.uk, you will have the option to click "Calculate Price and Book". If you click that button, you will find more information on that specific property.
At the bottom, the amount of the deposit will appear. If there is no information about the deposit, you can always contact our customer service at support@campaya.co.uk or call us at 02031 296 074.
How do I pay the deposit?
Where and how to pay a deposit varies from house to house. In some homes the deposit must be paid at the same place where you receive the key to the holiday home. You can pay either by cash or credit card.
In most cases it is also possible to pay the deposit in advance at the same time as the rent.
When do I get the deposit back?
For holiday homes in Denmark, the remaining amount of the deposit will be refunded within 3 weeks of departure. For holiday homes abroad the deposit is most often settled on the day of departure with the house owner, contact person, or the key delivery agency.
In some cases, the remaining amount will be refunded via a bank transfer. Remember to bring your IBAN and SWIFT codes.
