Situated close to Denmark's most westerly point, Blåvand is one of the nation's most attractive holiday areas. The region is renowned as a family-friendly environment and is surrounded by beautiful, picturebook countryside. Here you will find this attractive, architect-designed holiday home situated in a peaceful, child-friendly area close to wide beaches and large, impressive dunes. The house is decorated attractively and tastefully with modern conveniences to satisfy the most exacting of guests. Facilities include spa, sauna, solarium and well-equipped kitchen In addition to the wide, white sandy beaches offering long refreshing walks along the North Sea coastline, the area includes plenty of open countryside, moorland and forest. The grassy dunes of the Kærgård plantation form part of an impressive, undulating landscape characterized by heather and crooked old oak trees. Beyond Blåvand, Skallingen is another peaceful, attractive location with excellent views across to both Esbjerg and Fanø. The animal life is rich and varied, and includes the country's largest population of red deer. In addition, the area is a favourite 'holiday destination' for many migratory birds, which use Blåvand and Skallingen as a feeding and rest area. Blåvand is teeming with things to do for young and old alike. The attractive countryside is ideal for cycling and walking, and also offers golf, hang gliding, beach volleyball, riding, and bowling. It is also home to a tropical bathing centre. In addition, plenty of opportunities exist for angling, whether you prefer river fishing, a 'put and take' lake or the open sea. Blåvand itself is a lively holiday town with a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. It offers a large choice of shopping opportunities and restaurants, and is also home to many artisans, including ceramic artists, painters, amber polishers and sculptors - many of whom can be visited working in their traditional workshops. Right across the landscape you will find small ecological farms and farmyard shops offering delicious local fare. It isn't surprising that Western Jutland is often known as 'Denmark's breadbasket'. This holiday home is perfect for those who wish to stay in a central location that is handy for Western Jutland's cosy market towns and many attractions. Denmark's fifth-largest town, Esbjerg, lies close by, offering a vibrant business and cultural life as well as good restaurants, galleries and plenty of shopping opportunities. Attractions include the Fishing and Shipping Museum, the West Jutland Amber Museum, the Esbjerg Museum of Art and the impressive 9 metre-high imposing sculpture, 'Man Meets the Sea'. South of Esbjerg is Denmark's oldest town, Ribe, which is also well worth a visit. Closer to your holiday home, you will find exciting tourist attractions such as Blåvand Zoo, the Danish Fire Engine Museum, the fantastic Amber Museum at Oksbøl and the Blåvand Nature Centre which will be a sure hit with the youngsters. Furthermore, Legoland in Billund and Givskud Zoo and Safari Park are both just an hour's drive away.
